Autumn Antics

Fall is here and the weather is cool and the leaves are turning! What a great time of year!

I've been having fun sitting on my grandparents' porch and rocking in my own chair with a good book! Of course, after about 8 seconds, I get tired of that and want to do something else! I like to walk down the driveway and Granddaddy holds me up to check the mailbox. When there's nothing there, I close the lid, wait about 5 seconds, then ask to take another look, just in case the mailman came when we weren't looking!

Today, Daddy said he wanted to take me to feed the ducks, like he did when he was young. So, we picked up Granddaddy and Grammy and headed for the park. We saw the ducks, but they wouldn't let us park our car, so we had to go to Plan B. We went to another nearby park where they have lots of animals. We saw a black vulture, a red-tailed hawk, an elk and a big old bull! He had lots of flies on his back and he kept trying to swish them off with his tail!

Daddy and I walked around and he let me pick up black walnuts to take home. Granddaddy, Grammy and Mommy sat on a bench under a tree and something started falling on them! Grammy said it was squirrels up in the tree breaking open the walnuts and dropping the shells on their heads! They had to move!

Then, we found this cool statue of some kids and a dog walking on a log! Mommy let me sit on the dog (I called it a "woo-woo" because that's the sound real ones make) and I didn't want to get off!

Then, we went out to eat and when we got back to Grammy's house, I needed a bath! I like to take baths, but that water doesn't taste very good! But, at least I'm clean, now! Oh, well, time for bed. Sleep tight!

Love,

Jayme Lynn
