My First State Fair!

Wow, what a day! We went to the State Fair of Virginia and had a GREAT TIME!

First, I got to sit on a real tractor (see new photos below). Then, they gave me a baby duck to pet, but I grabbed it instead. I'm still learning how to be gentle!

Mommy, Daddy, Grandma and Granddaddy took me. (Grandmommy stayed home because her back still hurts.)

Everybody else got to eat Fair Food, but I had to eat my strained peas and bananas. I can't wait until I'm old enough for an Italian Sausage Sandwich with green peppers and onions! (Daddy said he doesn't look forward to changing my diaper after that one!)

I spent a lot of time in my stroller just looking up at stuff. There was so much to see, I didn't know where to look first! Daddy carried me a lot, and showed me lots of animals, like goats and cows. One of the cows just had a 90 pound baby! That's more than I weighed!

In one of the buildings, I got a Veggie Tales CD with my own name on it! Grandma bought me a Winnie the Pooh in a Tigger costume! Granddaddy let me pick up a duck (a plastic one in a swimming pool) and I won a prize!

We saw some other kids with their grandparents. Grandaddy said he could tell they were grandparents because they bought the children plastic trumpets that made a lot of noise. He said a parent probably wouldn't do that, but I don't know why not!

We all had fun, but after four hours, it was time to call it a day. I'm already looking forward to next year!

Bye, Bye, Bottle!

Well, I'm only five and a half months old and I've already given up the bottle (almost)! Mom gave me some carrots and bananas today and fed them to me on a spoon! (see photos below)

She says this colorful stuff doesn't cost as much as the formula I've been drinking and they need to save their pennies for our NEW HOUSE! That's right!

After much prayer, Granddaddy found us a new house about 5 miles away from the one we're in now and we'll be moving in next month! I'll have a much bigger bedroom, and one wall is covered with a hand-painted mural of a little girl in a field with flowers and trees! I really like it. Dad and I got to see it for the first time yesterday.

That's because Dad was in the hospital last week with viral meningitis. He had a rough time, but he's all better now. The worst part was, I couldn't see him for three days!

Speaking of hospitals, Grandmommy was in one last Friday because she woke up with her back muscles hurting so bad, she couldn't get out of bed! Granddaddy had to call the rescue squad to get her to the emergency room! She's almost all better, now, and went back to work today.

As Mom always says, there's never a dull moment in our family!

Guess what? I get to go to my first State Fair on Saturday! Dad says he was only one month old when he went for the first time! I'll try to get them to take some more pictures for my blog!

Hope to see you soon!

Five Months and Counting!

Well, I hit the big 5-0 yesterday (5 months, that is!). Funny, I don't feel a day older than four!

To celebrate, I rolled over from my front to my back for Miss Christie (not Aunt Christy, my babysitter)! I guess that's a good thing, but it sure threw me for a loop!

I finally found out why Mom and Dad have been working on the house so hard...we're moving! They say we're going to stay in Richmond, but go to a bigger house! That means I'll have more rooms to explore (when I learn how to crawl)! Lots of people want to buy our house (can you blame them? It's where I LIVE!) Now all the folks have to do is find a new house for us to move in. Keep them in your prayers because it's a big decision!

New photos below. Let me know what you think!
