Monday was Mommy's birthday! She's 29 years old! That's ANCIENT!
Next week it's my Great Uncle Greg's birthday. He'll be 10 1/2 and boy, is he big for his age! Daddy says Greg is a Leap Year baby, whatever that means.
Anyway, since they're so close together, we had a combined birthday party for Mommy and Greg at Greg's house last Saturday. We had lots of cake and ice cream and I got to see my second cousins Camryn, Jenny and Caroline. Granddaddy read a book to me and Caroline at the same time (he has two knees, you know!) There's a picture of all of us below.
On Monday, Mommy's REAL birthday, it was a holiday, so Granddaddy babysat for me while Daddy went shopping and bought Mommy bunches of balloons, flowers and other stuff. They went out to eat Monday night and Mommy got a big pork chop and Daddy got a steak. I only have one tooth, so they won't let me have any leftovers! But, they are feeding me more stuff from the table and I feel like a big girl when I get to eat what the big people are eating! Grammy says she doesn't know where I put it all!
My latest trick is climbing up stairs, so Daddy and Granddaddy put up a gate to keep me from leaving the den. I don't understand why they were so happy to see me climb stairs and now they won't let me do it! Grownups are strange!
See you later!

Ten Months Old!
Yep, I turned Ten Months Old today! Ain't I somethin'?
The folks and I went over the river to Granddaddy and Grammy's yesterday to watch the Super Bowl together. It was lots of fun, but I spent most of the time crawling around on the floor, trying to pick up pieces of lint and put them in my mouth without anyone seeing me! Grammy calls me her little vacuum cleaner!
Now that I'm old, I get to have big people food from the table, like crackers and banana bits and my favorite, SMASHED POTATOES! (look at me eating them below) I specially like chasing things around on my high chair tray, trying to pick them up. This sure beats that stuff in those little jars!
I like to climb up on things so I can see better. Sometimes I fall down, but I get up again (hey, that could be a song!)
Daddy went back to work today, but his tummy still doesn't feel good all the time. Mommy stayed home with me yesterday because her ear hurt. I have to stay healthy so I can take care of them!
I learned how to untie my shoes and even undo the Velcro straps, so Mommy found me some Nikes that I can't get out of! But, I'll keep trying!
Hey, guess what? I'm going to have a brand-new cousin this fall! Aunt Christy and Uncle Daniel liked playing with me so much during Christmas that they asked the stork to bring them a baby, too! I'm so excited! I'll have to teach him or her the ropes when he or she gets here!
Thanks for stopping by and keep warm. It's cold outside!

Happy New Year!
Granddaddy had the day off from work today so he babysat for me! He taught me how to play the Pots and Pans! (see picture below) It was fun making lots of noise! It's been really warm here. Today, Granddaddy and I swung on the front porch swing. He even let me hang from a branch on a tree (just for a few seconds, though). He says I'll be trying to climb that tree before I know it!
Grammy's best friend in Birmingham drew a picture of me and it's hanging in her dining room. Everytime I see it, I point and say, "Bay-bee!" She's really a good artist!
I've learned how to do the "commando crawl" now, so I can go just about anywhere I want on my tummy. Sometimes I work myself into a corner and can't get out! My favorite thing to do is to find little strings or tags on things and try to pull them off!
Mommy likes to play "peek-a-boo" with me and Daddy likes to feed me things from the table when Mommy's not looking! (don't tell her, but last week I had some chicken noodle soup!)
My hair's getting real long and they may have to cut it soon. I hope that doesn't hurt!
Nitey-nite!

Christmas was COOL!
What a great holiday! We went to Christmas services at our church, lots of our relatives were in town and we got to open toys, toys and more toys!
I had lots of pretty "Baby's First Christmas" clothes to wear. Guess I'll have to hand them down to somebody else. Oh, guess what? I have a brand-new 2nd cousin! McKinley Gail was born on December 21 in Memphis! I can't wait to see her and give her some tips on growing up!
Boy, I've never seen so many camera flashes as I did this weekend! Seems everybody wanted to take MY picture! I've posted some of them below. Granddaddy says one of his favorite gifts is a picture of a child's hands folded in prayer and it says, "And thank You for my Grandpa." But, he says it made him cry when he saw it! Does he like it or not?!? Mom and Dad also gave them grandparent sweatshirts, but it's too warm to wear them yet!
My favorite part of Christmas was opening the presents. I enjoyed tearing the paper off of things and putting it into my mouth. Daddy spent a lot of time digging paper out of my mouth. I also liked chewing on the boxes stuff came in. Mommy spent a lot of time taking the boxes away from me. So, I had to settle for chewing on the new toys. They say I'm teething, because I get kind of moody sometimes (Granddaddy says I sound like a fire engine!) They still want me to "crawl," but I don't know why. I get everywhere I need to go by rolling over and over and over!
Tonight, we're all going to get our picture taken at J.C. Penney, then we're all going out to eat. It's great to have Uncle Daniel and Aunt Christy here with us. They like my new house!
I hope you had a Merry Christmas and took time out to thank God for sending Baby Jesus to us as the Best Gift ever given!
I love you and He does, too!
