Happy Labor Day!

Hope you're having a great holiday weekend! I'm just glad to have my Daddy back home!

He had surgery on his nose and throat on the 21st and has been recovering every since! He was only in the hospital overnight, but, since Mommy has to take care of me and Morgan, Daddy spent the past nine days at Ditty and Grammy's house. And, know what? While they were taking care of him, they both came down with a virus, so everybody took turns taking care of each other! Whew! We're glad THAT'S over!

Anyway, Daddy finally got to come home with us last night and I agreed to sleep in my own bed again. I had been sleeping with Mommy because I didn't like it that Daddy wasn't home with us! He still has to take it easy for another week or so, until he heals up enough to go back to work.

Know what? I go back to school on Tuesday and I'll be in a new classroom with a new teacher! Some of my friends will be there and I'll get to meet some new ones, too! I can't WAIT!

Did you know that one of my great-grandmothers (we call her "Ma") turned 90 years old this month! We took her out to lunch and gave her lots of presents and sang to her in the restaurant! I love her very much!

There's a picture of her below, along with some more from my trip to Busch Gardens. Hope you enjoy looking at them!

Summertime And The Livin' Is Easy!

Hi, there!

Jayme Lynn here, back from a bunch summer mini-vacations! We've had lots of fun doing things close to home this year because it costs to much to travel!

We've been to Busch Gardens several times and I even got to ride the Log Flume! It was scary at first and there's a BIG DROP at the end, but, once it was over with, I realized how much fun I had! They have a new area with lots of pretty birds to look at. One time, Daddy and I walked up to a parrot and he said, "Hello" to me, just like he was a person!

We saw a show on Pirates and it was scary. I must admit I cried a little bit, but I still like pirates! Once, I wanted to be a pirate when I grow up, but, I've changed my mind. Now, I want to be a doctor and a mommy!

We went to the beach and the waves were scary, too, until I got used to them. I got sand in places I've never had sand in before! Daddy took a nap on the beach and I practiced my hair-styling skills on Grammy! She made us samiches in pocket bread, but my favorite snack was canteloupe! Unfortunately, I think I ate too much, because it came back up on the playground equipment! My little sister, Morgan, didn't like the water, so she mostly played on the sand.

We joined our neighborhood pool again this year and have enjoyed it a lot! I even learned how to float on my back (as long as I have my water wings on!). Ditty even jumped off the diving board, but Grammy said she couldn't watch!

How 'bout them Redskins, huh? They've won both of their pre-season games and I hope they win tomorrow night, too! Ditty and I have been watching the games together, wearing our Redskins jerseys for good luck. They've worked so far!

Daddy and Mommy moved their bedroom downstairs to my level and made a playroom for me and Morgan up where they used to sleep. It's lots of fun and I'll have to show you next time you come over.

For now, have a good weekend!

Love,

Jayme Lynn

I Love Springtime!

Don't you just love the flowers and the trees in bloom this time of year? I've just discovered bugs and the other day I held one up to one of my boyfriends and he got scared! Mommy says I'm turning into a Tom Boy, whatever that means! All I know is I like to play with bugs. Granddaddy told me not to play with the kind that sting, though. He's watching out for me!

It's great being three years old! I'm learning my colors and letters and numbers. My favorite counting song is "Five Little Monkeys Jumping On The Bed." Do you know that one? I also like "The Wheels On The Bus" and "Ring Around The Rosie." (especially the part when we all fall down!)

We took all of the Mommies out to lunch last week for Mother's Day. There was my Mommy and her Mommy (Grandma) and Granddaddy's Mommy (GiGi) and Grammy! Grammy's Mommy (Ma) had a sore back, so she couldn't go to lunch with us. I got chicken nuggets and Granddaddy shared his soup with me. It was good! My baby sister, Morgan, and I gave Grandma and Grammy a framed poem with Morgan's footprint and my handprint on them. I think they liked them!

Yesterday, instead of driving around the neighborhood to visit other people's yard sales, we had a yard sale of OUR OWN at Granddaddy and Grammy's house! It was so much fun! I sold some of my old toys and clothes, but Mommy said she's going to use the money to buy me some new ones! I set up a lemonade stand and most of the grownups who came by bought some from me! We didn't have as many customers as we thought we would, but we had enough to make it worthwhile. Daddy took the leftovers to the Goodwill truck and gave them away.

I hope you have a good Memorial Day weekend and drive carefully if you're going somewhere!

Love,

Jayme Lynn

Guess Who's Three?

Yep, it's me, Jayme Lynn! I turned Three Years Old on April 7th! Now, I can get the big kid's toys in my Happy Meals! (I like Chicken Nuggets, personally!)

Boy, have we had a lot of parties! First of all, we had a party for Grammy's birthday and her best friend from Birmingham came to visit her! Her name is Jane-Jane and she even French-braided my hair! She's real nice and I like her a lot!

Next, we went to Chuck E. Cheese for my birthday and I rode on lots of rides and Mommy's friend Jess came over and we had pizza and everything! Daddy and I got on a ride that made you feel like you were on a real roller coaster! It was fun at first, but it got too rough and I had to get off. Granddaddy gave me a Mickey Mouse Club kite and a book with all of my blog postings when I was two and Grammy gave me an Alvin & The Chipmunks DVD!

Then, we went to Granddaddy and Grammy's house and had another party for me, with GiGi and Uncle Greg and Aunt Karen any cousins Caroline and Camryn and Jenny. They gave me a pretend makeup kit and Caroline and I had fun putting it on each other. Granddaddy and Grammy gave me a big, plastic picnic table that we took home and put on my back porch to play on! Oh, and, guess what? Mommy and Daddy got me a brand-new swingset with swings and a slide and a glider and everything! Daddy and Granddaddy put it together in the rain! They must love me a whole lot!

And then, we had ANOTHER party for me at a place called Party Time! It's a big building with lots of blow-up rides where you can go in and jump up and down and slide down. They had a separate room where some of my friends and classmates could give me a party. We had cake and ice cream and I got lots of toys!

Yesterday, we went to yard sales and I got a Barbie cellphone and some puzzles to play with. Then, when we got back to Granddaddy and Grammy's house, I stood next to the Weeping Cherry tree they planted on the day I was born and Grammy took my picture. We're both three years old! (They also planted a Magnolia tree when my cousin Abbey was born and a Crape Myrtle tree when my sister, Morgan, was born.)

Hope you enjoy the pictures below. Thanks for stopping by and have a good week!

Love,

Jayme Lynn
